Great SKYWARN Presentation

On 3/18/2021 ARES SKYWARN Coordinator Rob Macedo KD1CY gave an excellent presentation all about SKYWARN.
The slides, pictures and examples were not only informative but gave a better understanding of what SKYWARN is and the very important roll they play in weather related emergencies. For those QRA members who were unable to attend this meeting Rob is going to send me some of the slides to pass along in our news letter.
On behalf of All the QRA members we would like to extend our thanks to Rob for taking his time doing this presentation and all he does for SKYWARN and Amateur Radio.
Here are a few links well worth checking out.

I’m sorry to announce that QRA member Jim Murphy, N1FXL became a Silent Key. Jim passed on Wednesday May 20, 2020 after a stay in the hospital . There is no plan for a service or memorial at this time, but his XYL (wife) said there  will be a get together in the near future to honor him. Jim and his wife Abbie were involved in the Quannapowitt Radio Association and  Jim served on the BOD in 1995-1996 and as VP for two terms from 1996 to 1998.

QRA Net on 223.800

photo of a 220 MHz transceiverWant to give 220 a try?  The QRA is testing running the weekly net on the Stoneham 223.800 repeater.  No tone needed to access the repeater.  We will be meeting every Tuesday night at 7:30 PM on 220 throughout the month of April.  If it works well, this will be a permanent change.  Brian Gudzevich, net control coordinator for the QRA would welcome everyone’s thoughts on this change.
